Carepaks Health Services Nursing Assistant Program prepares individuals to work with other healthcare professionals providing care and assistance in a variety of settings. This program meets Illinois State/Department of Public Health guidelines for nursing assistant training. Becoming a CNA may also be your stepping stone to careers in nursing or other allied health professions..
Upon satisfactory completion of this program, the student is eligible to take the State of Illinois Nursing Assistant Certification Program Exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
The Nursing Assistant program is offered throughout the year at different times. Please check current class schedule.
Minimum of 80 hours of theory and 40 hours of clinical instruction.

A criminal background check/finger printing is required prior to the beginning of the training program. The healthcare worker Background check Act [225 ILCS 46] requires all applicants in a health related field to undergo a criminal history record check. Applicants with disqualifying convictions are discouraged from continuing with the program unless a waver is obtained from the IL. Dept of Public Health.
Once you successfully complete your nursing assistant program and pass the State CNA certification exam, your skills will always be in demand. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll be an important part of today’s health care system. Your job responsibility includes giving basic nursing and personal care to patients/residents. Salary range in Illinois is from $8-$16 per hour depending on the facility. Nursing assistants can work in variety of professional settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, private homes, government agencies and homecare agencies.
